Translation Resources and Information

The translation of text from one language to another can be a simple matter or a complex process that requires a large set of skills. In today's business environment, clients expect technology-savvy language translation vendors, quality work, and maximum value.

Many of our LanguageTran clients are highly informed about the issues that are involved in a successful translation process. For others, translation is a new experience, so they are not sure what they need to manage a translation project or how to look for a reliable translation vendor.

How Long Will It Take?

It is not uncommon for a client to call us in a state of desperation asking us to translate dozens of pages in  two days. We like to ask these clients one question: How long did it take you to write this content? Writing and editing are also part of the translation process.  In a nutshell, if it took someone 15 days to write a document, it would very difficult for us to deliver a high-quality translation in 2 days. Yes, we can assign several translators to a rush project, but the end-product will not have the same quality and consistency as if the translation had been done with a bit more time and care.

What About Machine Translation?

Some people try to translate large sections of content through machine translation. This is acceptable if you just want to know what the text is saying, more or less. But at this point computer translations are not a substitute for the art and craft that human translators offer.

When Should the Translation Vendor Come On Board?

The sooner, the better!  Whenever possible, we at LanguageTran recommend that you involve your translation vendor from the start of your content creation process. This will save you time and money.

To help our clients and friends understand the many issues involved with the translation process, we will post articles on this page and throughout our website. We believe it is better to be informed and plan ahead than rush at the end and risk the quality of the end-product.
